Rosgvardia is ready to fully ensure the safety of the European Football Championship. This was stated by the head of the department Viktor Zolotov.
Euro 2020 matches will be held from June 11 to July 11 in 12 European cities, including St. Petersburg.
Zolotov noted that Russian law enforcement officers have vast experience in ensuring security during mass events of the international level, TASS reports.
This experience has been gained since the 2013 Universiade in Kazan, the Olympic Games in Sochi and the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the head of the Russian Guard said.
In St. Petersburg matches are scheduled Belgium – Russia, Finland – Russia and Finland – Belgium, as well as one of the quarterfinals of Euro 2020.
Earlier it became known that the organizing committee of the Russian part of the European Football Championship and the St. Petersburg authorities decided on the occupancy of the stands in the city by 50%. The corresponding notification was sent to UEFA.
