Zelensky thanks the United States for military assistance

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in talks with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, thanked Washington for military assistance, according to the website of the Ukrainian leader’s office.

“The United States remains Ukraine’s main security and defense partner,” he said.

The parties discussed the development of military cooperation, the situation in Donbass, as well as the issue of Kiev’s aspiration to NATO and further support of Washington on this path.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the United States to build up its military presence in Ukraine.

Add, professor at Yale University Thomas Graham said that Washington is feeling tired of Kiev. The professor also expressed the opinion that Zelensky’s recent visit to the United States demonstrated the “sluggish state of relations” between the two countries.

The president himself, following a meeting with Joe Biden, said that Ukraine had not received a direct response from the United States on the issue of joining NATO.
