Zakharova: strikes in Belarus are unlikely to speed up integration with the Russian Federation

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova expressed doubt that strikes at Belarusian enterprises can accelerate the integration of the republic with Russia, TASS reports.

During the TV interview, the diplomat noted that during the protests in Belarus, strikes were announced and the work of a number of enterprises was blocked.

At the same time, Zakharova stressed that she does not know examples where strikes in any way accelerated the most complex processes, in particular, integration.

“You are perfectly aware of what result can be expected, and it was obvious, from such actions,” added the representative of the department.

Zakharova pointed out that the integration of the Russian Federation and Belarus within the framework of the Union State is connected, first of all, with the implementation of the agreements reached earlier. She also noted that this is a rather complex process, which includes not only the public sector, but also private business.

According to the diplomat, the fact that the integration of the two countries is not easy is not surprising, since at present "the world economy is suffering from the consequences of the pandemic."

Earlier, Maria Zakharova expressed the opinion that the Polish authorities continue to carry out open interference in the internal affairs of Belarus.
