The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, on the air of the Russia 1 TV channel, shared the progress of the negotiations on the settlement of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Zakharova clarified that the negotiations lasted almost 11 hours and ended at about two in the morning. At the same time, initially the meeting was in the nature of consultations, but in the process it was possible to work out a document that became the starting point in the settlement of the conflict.
According to her, the participants made several breaks so that the delegations could call Baku and Yerevan.
Zakharova added that during these consultations she discovered the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry in a new way.
“I have the impression that in this round he put all of himself, all his intellect, all his negotiating abilities, human qualities,” she said.
Also, according to her, the head of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin personally played a significant role in this process. Thus, his numerous telephone conversations with the heads of Armenia and Azerbaijan laid the foundation for the settlement of the conflict.
Let us remind you that the ceasefire agreement was reached following the talks between the foreign ministers of the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan and Armenia, held in Moscow. It entered into force on October 10 at 12:00 local time (11:00 Moscow time).
Meanwhile, Baku and Yerevan subsequently accused each other of violating the ceasefire.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, at a meeting with a colleague from Armenia, said that the ceasefire agreement in Nagorno-Karabakh is not being fully observed, the fighting continues.
