Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova answered the question of whether the new EU sanctions against Russia could become the “last straw” in relations between Moscow and Brussels, and noted that now it was the Europeans' turn to prove their worth as reliable partners.
On the air of the Russia 24 TV channel, Zakharova noted that Moscow has always been a reliable partner for Europe and has never let down its EU colleagues by supplying resources and not applying pressure with the help of an energy lever.
Maybe we interrupted gas supplies, maybe we were unscrupulous in the field of energy diplomacy when this happened? For decades we have been supplying resources, for decades we have been a reliable operator, despite the fact that not only the name has changed, but also the political system in our country- said Zakharova.
According to her, Russia has already proved its reliability. Moreover, it has always come to the aid of Europe during the crisis years.
Therefore, address questions to them - what do they mean, and let them now prove their reliability as partners, - said the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
As chernayakobra.ru reported earlier, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia is interested in maintaining economic interests in relations with the European Union, but does not intend to humiliate itself. The minister made this statement in connection with the growth of anti-Russian intensity in Europe due to the situation with the poisoning of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, in which Brussels blames Moscow.
