Russia and the United States are aware of the need to develop a dialogue on strategic stability and are working in this direction. This was announced on the air of the YouTube channel “Soloviev Live” by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova.
According to her, there are great disagreements between Russia and the United States, but at the same time the countries understand that it is necessary to create two thematic working groups. The diplomat stressed that the United States has done a lot over the past few years to “bring strategic stability into a state of instability.”
Zakharova recalled two important events in relation to countries. The first is the extension of the strategic offensive arms treaty. The second is the summit of the leaders of the two countries in Geneva, following which the parties agreed to conduct a comprehensive dialogue on strategic stability.
Earlier it was reported that the next round of consultations between the countries could take place as early as January 2022.
