Zakharova commented on media reports about the diplomat who died in Berlin

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that German media reports that the diplomat who died in Berlin was allegedly connected with the Russian special services had nothing to do with professional coverage of the issue, RIA Novosti reported.

Zakharova called such publications insinuations and wild conspiracy theories. According to her, this has nothing to do with any professional coverage of the issue.

Earlier, Spiegel reported on the death of a Russian diplomat in Berlin. The publication wrote that the deceased diplomat was allegedly an FSB officer.

At the same time, the Russian embassy does not comment on the reports of the death of the Russian diplomat. The department told reporters that they would not comment on this event “for ethical reasons.”
