The Foreign Ministry pointed to the colonial manners of the European Union
The attitude of European countries to other states is based on the colonial vision of the world. This statement was made by Maria Zakharova after the harsh words of the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
We will remind, on the eve of the diplomat said that during a conversation with his European counterpart, he urged Russia to stop activities in African countries, since the region is already occupied.
“Africa is our place. That’s exactly what I said,” Lavrov said.
The minister pointed out that it would be more productive for Russia and the European Union to work in the African direction together, and not to drive away a potential partner, boasting that he had managed to take his place earlier – it was offensive and it was impossible to talk like that.
Maria Zakharova noted that the EU countries still live in a colonial paradigm and build relations with other states in accordance with this vision of the world.
“The collective West endows itself with the rights, among other things, to deal with the destinies of the world, when the world does not ask for it,” she quotes on the air of “Sunday Evening” RIA Novosti.
Earlier it was reported that Borrell nearly disrupted Lavrov’s meeting with the Japanese Foreign Minister.
