Yanukovych’s defense denied suspicion of treason

The Aver Lex law firm, which protects the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, denied information that he was suspected under the article “High Treason”, TASS reports.

“The State Bureau of Investigations has once again disseminated false information regarding the message to Yanukovych of suspicion of treason. No suspicions were raised, ”the defense said in a statement.

The statement notes that the RRB has no reason to suspect Yanukovych of committing illegal actions in connection with the Kharkiv agreements.

Earlier it was reported that the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) suspected ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych of treason in connection with the signing of the so-called Kharkov agreements with Russia in 2010.

Let us remind you that on April 21, 2010, representatives of Ukraine and Russia signed agreements in Kharkov on the conditions for the stay of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The documents stipulated the presence of the fleet in Crimea for 25 years in exchange for a reduction in the price of Russian gas by 30%, but no more than $ 100 per thousand cubic meters.
