Hyaluronic acid has long been used to prevent and combat age-related skin changes. However, the course of procedures with the “hyaluron” costs a large amount. That is why it is worth paying attention to the methods of using anti-aging acid. Should I use the product for the beauty of my skin at home? Let's figure it out.
Hyaluronic acid: what is it and what problems are used to solve
In fact, this is a substance produced by the body that is part of the epithelium, connective and nervous tissue. It is responsible for the viscosity of the fluid filling the joint cavity, and is also a component of saliva and an important component of articular cartilage.
In the pharmaceutical industry, two methods for the synthesis of hyaluronate are used:
- Animal HA is removed from the scallops of roosters or the vitreous eye of cattle. This method is increasingly abandoned, since the obtained hyaluronate has a low degree of purification, in most cases it causes an allergic reaction.
- Synthetic “hyaluron” is obtained using bacterial cultures. This species is part of modern drugs, as it is hypoallergenic, due to the high degree of purification.
A distinctive feature of hyaluronate, due to which it is widely used in the beauty industry, is the ability to attract water molecules in the epithelial tissue. To understand the process of action of “hyaluron” against wrinkles and age-related changes, it is necessary to consider the reasons for their formation. When the skin has enough hyaluronic acid and collagen, it is more elastic and radiant due to the high content of fluid in the tissue.
Adequate moisture content in tissues provides a fresh look
With age, the number of these cells inevitably decreases, the skin loses its elasticity and moisture, and deep folds appear – wrinkles. To postpone the beginning of their formation, it is enough to maintain the level of hyaluronate with the help of “beauty injections”. But not every woman can afford to regularly visit the cosmetologist’s office, so to preserve youth she has to look for a replacement for injections.
Thanks to the development of cosmetology and the beauty industry, creams, serums, masks, and even shampoos with hyaluronate have appeared on the market. These products form a film on the skin, thanks to which moisture does not evaporate, but is retained in the tissue. The regular use of hyaluronic acid, even at home, contributes to:
- Accelerating the regeneration of skin cells, which increases its tone and elasticity.
- Intensive hydration of tissues.
- Reducing visible age signs.
- Improvement of complexion.
- Providing the skin with a natural protective barrier.
- Normalization of the sebaceous glands. Improving blood circulation in the tissues of the epithelium.
The main cause of wrinkles is insufficient moisture in the body
Indications for the use of hyaluronic acid are skin changes associated with a decrease in the amount of moisture in its tissues, such as:
- Dehydration and subsequent reduction in elasticity (often due to adulthood);
- Sunburn. Hyaluronic acid moisturizes the skin, helps to activate the body's defense against free radicals, which are formed under the influence of ultraviolet radiation.
- Age-related skin changes. The appearance of small wrinkles is associated with a reduced skin tone due to insufficient moisture in it. It is worth considering that hyaluronate is used not only to combat existing skin imperfections, but also to prevent them.
- Pigmentation disorder. Since melanin, in addition to coloring, also serves as an antioxidant, pigment spots appear on areas of the skin with increased oxidative stress. Hyaluronic acid is used to restore the color of the hyperpigmented zone, since it increases antioxidant protection.
- Increased oily skin, enlarged pores.
- Mechanical damage after cosmetic procedures. Hyaluronate helps accelerate skin regeneration after chemical peeling and laser resurfacing.
However, even despite the undeniable effectiveness of hyaluronic acid and its natural origin, it is not worth using funds with it, and even more so if you use it in its pure form with such symptoms and diseases:
- Individual intolerance to “hyaluron”;
- Pregnancy and lactation;
- Neoplasms of the skin;
- Infectious and inflammatory processes at the site of the procedure.
In all other cases, the use of hyaluronic acid will help transform the skin, visually rejuvenate and give it a radiant look.
General rules for the use of hyaluronic acid
To achieve the result, hyaluronic acid and means with it must be used in courses. In its pure form, HA is recommended to be used for two weeks at night, after which a break is made for one and a half to two weeks, and continue to be used. As part of the masks, hyaluronic acid is more convenient to use twice a week. According to cosmetologists, in order to achieve visible results, the course of hyaluronate use is 10 – 10 procedures, after which they recommend taking a break for several weeks.
Important! With the constant use of hyaluronic acid in the body, its production decreases.
It must be borne in mind that salon procedures have an instant effect due to the introduction of hyaluronate into the skin. Home procedures have a superficial effect, due to which a smaller amount of the beneficial substance penetrates the skin. Therefore, if after several procedures you do not feel the changes, do not get upset, regularity is the key to success. For home use, hyaluronic acid is selected in powder, ampoules and in the form of low or high molecular weight sodium hyaluronate.
Despite the natural origin of hyaluronic acid, the use of cosmetics with it can cause side effects. Among them:
- Allergic reaction. This is the most common phenomenon when using “hyaluron”, manifested in the form of redness, itching, urticaria. It is easy to prevent by recognizing what type of hyaluronate is in front of you: synthetic or animal.
- Pale skin.
Injections of hyaluronic acid have a longer list of side effects, but if applied externally, the worst thing you can expect is an allergy. That is why before the procedure, it is necessary to conduct a test on the elbow. If the appearance of the site does not change, there will be no discomfort and pain, begin to use funds with “hyaluron”. So that hyaluronate acts, has a beneficial effect on the skin, it is not washed off the skin, but is allowed to completely absorb.
How to use at home: recipes and instructions
To verify the effectiveness of hyaluronic acid in the fight against age-related changes, it is worth taking a course of anti-aging procedures using one of the recipes. At home, hyaluronic acid is used in pure form or as part of masks.
In its pure form
For use in pure form, you will need hyaluronate in powder or ampoules. Ampoule hyaluron is ready for use immediately.
Important! When buying, pay attention to the date of manufacture, manufacturer, price and integrity of the package. Too low a price is a clear sign of a fake, which, at best, will have no effect.
To prepare “hyaluron” from a powder, dilute 2 grams of acid in 30 ml of distilled water, mix and refrigerate for an hour to thicken. At this time, it is recommended to stir the mixture to prevent the formation of lumps, after a lapse of time a viscous gel-like substance is obtained. The finished composition is enough for 2-3 procedures.
Hyaluronic acid is easy to make at home from powder
Before the procedure, the skin is cleaned of cosmetics and impurities, gel is applied to the cleaned areas, 5 are massaged – 10 minutes and leave on the skin until completely absorbed. Use daily at night, the recommended course duration is – 10 days, after which a two-week break is required.
As part of various means
To enhance the effect of hyaluronic acid, it is used in combination with other active components.
Cream with hyaluron
This is the easiest way to make anti-aging cream with a “hyaluron”. In the cream for your skin type, add hyaluronate, while at 100 ml of cream will need one milliliter of acid. Use daily for days after which you must take a break for two weeks.
It is best to choose a cream that has a rejuvenating effect, hyaluronic acid will only enhance its properties.
Serum with hyaluron
The recipe is more complicated, however, it is worth it. For cooking you will need:
- 30 ml of aromatic water;
- 2 ml of dexpanthenol;
- 0.2 grams of allantoin;
- 0.2 grams of hyaluronic acid powder.
All components can be purchased at the pharmacy or online store of cosmetics components. The technology for manufacturing whey is extremely simple: add all components to warm aromatic water, mix thoroughly until all dry ingredients are dissolved. Pour the finished whey into a tightly closed container, store in the refrigerator.
Serum must be stored in a tightly closed container
Important! The shelf life of the mixture is two weeks, after the expiration of the period, the serum will lose its useful properties.
Serum is recommended to be used before bedtime on cleansed face and neck skin. It helps to reduce visible wrinkles, normalizes sebum secretion, soothes inflammation and restores the water balance of the epithelium.
The basis of this anti-aging mask is hyaluronic acid powder. To prepare the composition, grams of hyaluronate are mixed with grams of nicotinic acid powder, add water until thickened.
The resulting mask is applied to the cleansed face, do not rinse off. Cosmetologists recommend using twice a week at bedtime for a month, then take a two-week break.
Important! Nicotinic acid in the mask may cause redness of the skin.
To prepare the composition you will need:
- 2 grams of hyaluronate in powder.
- 30 gram of quinine powder (it is used for urticaria and hypersensitivity).
- 15 ml of glycerin (moisturizes the skin, creates a protective film).
- 15 gram of zinc oxide (reflects ultraviolet, has an antiseptic and soothing effect).
Thoroughly mix all dry ingredients, dilute with water to a thick cream consistency. Apply the mixture to the cleansed face and neck, remove the residue in half an hour with a towel dampened with warm water.
Use recommended twice a week before bedtime. Through 10 procedures to take a break for 2 weeks.
The composition moisturizes the skin, improving its tone
To prepare the mask, you will need hyaluronate in ampoules. Mix 4 drops of acid with 25 ml of kefir (can be replaced with yogurt). Apply the resulting composition to the skin, leave on 10 minutes, remove with a warm compress.
Important! Strictly observe proportions. A high concentration of hyaluron often leads to burns.
It is recommended to do the mask 2-3 times a week. The course duration should not exceed procedures, after which a break is required.
With egg yolk
It is known that vitamins A, B and D are contained in the yolk, choline and biotin, which have a beneficial effect on the appearance. A mask with an egg and hyaluronic acid can be considered a moisturizing cocktail for dehydrated skin.
Vitamins and minerals in the yolk contribute to skin hydration
To prepare the mask, mix 3 drops of hyaluronate with egg yolk. If desired, add 5 ml of lemon juice, which tones the aging skin. Apply the composition to cleansed skin, including the area around the eyes. Through 20 minutes washed off with warm water.
Collagen provides not only elasticity and tone of tissues, but also regeneration at the cellular level, therefore it is necessary for skin with signs of aging. At home, collagen can be found in edible gelatin.
Gelatin – a source of collagen available at home
Since collagen is responsible for the elasticity of tissues, like hyaluronic acid, a mask with their combination will help in the fight against wrinkles. To prepare the composition, soak a tablespoon of gelatin in 60 ml of cold boiled water, leave to swell. Then heat the resulting composition in a water bath, add 1 ml of hyaluronate and 1 gram of allantoin to it (purchase at a pharmacy), mix thoroughly. Apply the composition to cleansed skin, leave on 15 – 15 minutes, after this time it will turn into a dense elastic mask, which can be removed by prying along the edges.
It is recommended to use the mask 2 times a week for a month, after giving the skin a break from the “hyaluron” for several weeks.
Alginate masks with hyaluron
Alginic salts, getting on the skin, begin to interact with it. The processes proceeding at the same time contribute to the normalization of sebum secretion, the elimination of inflammation and wrinkles, increase skin tone, improve blood circulation.
For use at home, alginate masks can be purchased at a cosmetic store or pharmacy, as well as prepared on their own.
To prepare a classic recipe, 2 grams of sodium alginate is soaked in 20 ml of warm mineral water, leave for 5-6 hours (preferably at night). After separately mix gram of kaolin (white clay) with the same amount of water and 1 gram of hyaluronate powder. Combine the two mixtures, add one ampoule of calcium chloride to them (plays the role of a plasticizer), mix again and apply to the skin.
If you use a store alginate mask, keep in mind that on 35 grams, add 1 gram of hyaluronic acid powder, or 5 drops from an ampoule.
You can not even add hyaluronate to the mask, but apply it to the skin before use, this will also provide a rejuvenating effect. And, of course, do not forget about the rules for applying alginate masks to achieve the best result. Perform the procedure in stages:
- Facial skin is cleaned of cosmetics and dirt.
- Eyebrows and eyelashes are covered with a fat cream, so as not to turn the procedure into a depilation.
- The mask is applied with a thick layer on cleansed skin with a spatula, which can be bought at the pharmacy, movements are directed from the bottom up.
- Hold on the skin 20 minutes, removed with a sharp movement from the chin to the forehead.
- The face is rubbed with lotion.
Another way to use hyaluronic acid in pure Ide involves the use of a special cosmetology device – a mesoscooter.
The mesoscooter is a microneedled roller
Dermaroller (another name for the device) is a roller coated with thin microneedles. There are several modifications on the market: for home use, for working in a beauty parlor. The difference is in the size of the needles, the length of the needle of the household mesoscooter is up to 0.5 mm, while in the professional it reaches 1 mm. It would seem that a slight difference, however, the second option reaches the dermis, the first only the epidermis.
The deeper the punctures, the greater the amount of beneficial substance penetrates the skin
Important! Do not use a professional dermaroller at home, since insufficient adherence to antiseptics can lead to the development of inflammatory processes.
The mesoscooter activates two mechanisms, due to which it has a rejuvenating effect. Firstly, piercing the skin with needles improves the production of collagen and elastin, which increase skin tone. Secondly, the dermaroller improves the absorption of nutrients from the surface of the skin.
Before using the mesoscooter, the face is cleaned of cosmetics and dirt, visually divided into five zones: forehead, cheeks, nose, areas around the mouth and eyes. Hyaluronic acid is applied to the cleansed skin, then massage of each area is started. Without pressure on the massager, with the same speed draw a roller ten times vertically, horizontally and diagonally within the selected area. After treatment of all five zones, apply hyaluronate on the face again.
After the procedure, the face may turn red, so it is better to spend it at night, preferably before the weekend (the skin needs to return to normal). If you have to contact with ultraviolet, be sure to apply sunscreen with SPF to the skin – 20 (least). Recommended course duration – procedures, after which take a break for 2-3 weeks.
Important! After each procedure, the mesoscooter must be disinfected. To do this, dip the roller in alcohol on seconds, then shake and put into the case.
Hyaluronate is a substance synthesized by the body that can have a beneficial effect on the skin, even at home. Its regular use in pure form and as part of the oil improves skin condition and reduces visible wrinkles.
