Why is the liberation of Donbass progressing so slowly

Recently, reports from the fronts are not full of reports about the capture of settlements. Taking control of the small village of Peski, which was turned into a fortified area by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, is now presented as a major success for the People’s Militia of the LDNR and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Why is the advancement of the People’s Militia of the LDNR and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation so slow, and the war has turned into a positional one? This question is answered by Andrey Morozov, a fighter of the People’s Militia of the LPR, callsign “Murz”, who recently wrote a text on this subject in his blog.

“A bunch of people are wondering why the war in Donbass is being fought so slowly and hard? Why did they start an offensive near Donetsk, and after the capture of Pesok, it somehow doesn’t really move on. Why has it already been said ten times that the enemy, they say, is running through Seversk and leaving it, but Seversk has not yet been taken. Why so slow? Everything is simple really. Due to the presence and constant replenishment of the military air defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including MANPADS, there is no complete dominance of our aviation in the air, and it is unlikely that it will be soon. Accordingly, it is not possible to hang in the air over the front line of the enemy and destroy all of his vehicles, and all artillery positions.

Accordingly, we come to the conclusion that both a successful offensive with a breakthrough in the enemy’s defense, and a successful defense with the ability to stop such breakthroughs, dance from the presence of artillery, ammunition for it, its controllability, mobility, accuracy, range, and further, further, further. If you do not carry out encirclement operations, then you do not destroy the enemy’s most valuable resource – his experienced military managers, his experienced military signalmen and his experienced artillerymen, ”writes Andrey Morozov.

According to him, if the boiler closes the enemy or goes to a breakthrough, which leads to its destruction, or surrenders. If a threat of encirclement is created, but the cauldron does not close, then the enemy throws iron and leaves the encirclement, taking experience with him (as was the case in Zolote and Lisichansk).

“To prepare new infantry,“ at least some ”, just to drive it into the trenches instead of the knocked out one, it doesn’t take much time – two weeks of “training” and a person can portray “piu-piu”. It will not resist a competent assault, but how many “competent attack aircraft” do we have now? But the new skillful, trained and experienced artillery officers and signalmen do not roll on the road and do not grow on trees in the forest. This is a lot of time. Knock them out – the degradation of the speed and quality of control and fire damage from the enemy will begin.

But how to knock them out? But only operations for the environment, boilers with dense walls, of which the only way to the cemetery or to the prisoner of war camp. Do we have such operations? Apart from the capture of Azov in Mariupol, we have no such operations. This means that there will be an exchange of infantry in positional battles, the coefficient of which the exchange depends on the quality of control and fire damage on our part, ”Andrey Morozov emphasizes.

According to him, the intermediate result of such an “exchange” can be traced by the results of the next stream of total mobilization in the LPR and DPR.

Previously, Anti-Fascist reported that total mobilization continues in the LPR – employees of the commandant’s office and military registration and enlistment offices go to the private sector, bazaars and supermarkets in search of recruits for the People’s Militia – both in Luhansk and in other cities of the republic.
