WHO: the number of cases of coronavirus in the world exceeded 29 million

More than 29.155 million cases of COVID-19 infection have been recorded in the world, according to the website of the World Health Organization.

It is specified that 29 155 581 people fell ill. The number of deaths exceeded 926 thousand and is 926 544.

It is also noted that the Region of the Americas is in first place in terms of the number of cases of infection, where almost 15 million cases of coronavirus have been detected. The second place is occupied by Southeast Asia (over five million cases), in third place is Europe, where more than four million people have been infected.

Recall that on September 14, WHO announced a record increase in the number of people infected with a new type of coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic. It was reported that about 308 thousand people in the world received positive tests per day.
