WHO reports another decrease in the incidence of COVID in the world

Compared to the previous week, the number of cases of coronavirus in the world decreased by 16%, and the number of deaths – by 10%, according to the World Health Organization.

It is specified that we are talking about the period from 8 to 15 February. According to the organization, 2,726,974 infections and 81,340 deaths were detected in the world last week. As of February 15, there were 108,246,992 infections and 2,386,717 deaths in all countries of the world.

The most notable declines in morbidity and mortality have been reported in Africa, the Western Pacific, and the Americas. At the same time, in the United States, the number of infected people increased by more than 673 thousand in a week. Also, an increase in the incidence was detected in Brazil and France.

Earlier, the WHO stressed that the slowdown in the spread of coronavirus in the world was achieved, first of all, thanks to vaccination. On the eve of the representative of the World Health Organization in Russia Melita Vujnovich said that the likelihood of a third wave of COVID-19 exists.
