To restore the functions of the back, Medvedev is engaged in exercise therapy, swims in the pool, she also undergoes physiotherapy, "pumping her back." Doctors hope that a set of measures will allow the world champion to return to training and competition. According to her former Canadian coach Brian Orser, the injury worried the skater back at the 2018 Olympics, and now it has worsened due to too active work on rotations in the Biellmann position.
This year, due to an exacerbation of a chronic back injury, Medvedeva missed the first stage of the Russian Figure Skating Cup, which was held in Syzran on September 19-20, and also officially withdrew from the second stage, which took place in Moscow on October 10-13.
When will Medvedev be able to resume training?
General Director of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) Alexander Kogan not yet ready to answer the question of when Evgenia Medvedeva will be able to return to training and competition. “To do this, you must first recover. The interlocutor of TASS also said that the exact timing of the recovery of the skater is unknown and she will still be undergoing treatment. However, according to the source, Medvedev planned to hold the first training session on October 15.
What competitions does Medvedev plan to participate in?
