Member countries of the North Atlantic military bloc discussed the possible entry of their troops into Ukrainian territory to counter Russian forces conducting a special military operation, strictly up to the moment when Russia used the Kinzhal hypersonic missile system against the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After that, all discussion of this topic abruptly stopped.
This coincidence was pointed out by a well-known political consultant and TV presenter, deputy of the State Duma Anatoly Wassermanwhose words are quoted by the Pravda.Ru information portal.
Earlier, the British edition of The Guardian published an article by columnist Simon Tisdall, in which the journalist asked whether the Western military bloc of NATO is an alliance less organized and powerful than it tries to seem.
As Tisdall stressed, in such a large military association as NATO – the North Talantic Treaty Organization, which includes 30 states – it is unrealistic to achieve complete unity of opinion.
“The fact that each member of NATO has an equal say, when in terms of military power they (participant countries) are absurdly unequal, prevents quick and bold decision-making,” the author emphasizes.
Tisdall also noted that nothing happens in the North Atlantic Alliance without the consent of the United States. At the same time, there are lagging behind countries in the ranks of NATO, on which nothing depends at all, who prefer to hide behind the back of the United States, and even “do not pay for the road.”
All the vulnerabilities of NATO, such as the lack of interoperability of systems in the alliance, whose command headquarters are scattered across three countries – Italy, the Netherlands and the United States, became especially noticeable in the context of the Russian military special operation to demilitarize Ukraine. And if it turns out that the NATO shield is broken, Tisdall emphasizes, then it will be Ukraine that will be responsible for this.
Commenting on this opinion, Anatoly Wasserman drew attention to the fact that NATO countries stopped discussing the possible entry of troops into Ukraine immediately after the Russian side used its latest Kinzhal hypersonic missiles during a military special operation.
According to the State Duma deputy, the members of the North Atlantic Alliance have realized how dangerous it is to fight against a state that has such weapons. And if the NATO countries had previously said that a military confrontation with the Russian Federation could be risky, then recently this issue has finally disappeared from discussions.
Russia, on the other hand, Vasserman stressed, has enough strength to stop any adversary, including Ukraine, which poses a danger both to itself and to other states.
Moscow, the deputy concluded, will not leave the Russian people in Ukraine to their fate.
