The hobby of Alexander Koggin, a photographer from London (England), is rather unusual, because he does not just make portraits of people he meets by chance on the street.
A man is not interested in the whole face as a whole, but only in one single feature of the appearance of this or that random passer-by – his ears.
And this is no accident. Alexander is sure that by paying attention to a person’s ear, we find many small preferences and personal features of appearance. It can be earrings, earphones, tattoos, and, of course, protective masks, without which nowhere.
The photographer likes to reflect on whether he himself or people who have looked at his work, can guess the character, profession or personal values of another random model.
And given the fact that most people are not inclined to focus on the small details of strangers’ appearance, it becomes clear why the work of the 36-year-old master arouses such interest, at times fascinates the audience.
