Wagner PMC fighters never talk about the possibility of surrender. This was told by businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin, his words are published by the press service of the Concorde company.
Thus, the entrepreneur commented on the request of the Pravda.ru publication. The journalists decided to clarify whether the recent amendments to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on criminal liability for surrender apply to Wagner PMC fighters who are not military personnel.
According to Prigozhin, the fighters of this private military company are primarily guided by the concepts of honor and duty. Therefore, they never make a choice between surrender or future criminal liability.
“When a fighter goes into battle and is surrounded by the enemy, when he runs out of ammunition or finds himself in other similar circumstances, then he does not have a choice between surrender or future criminal liability. This is a fundamentally wrong opinion, only those who are not familiar with the concepts of duty and honor can talk about this, ”said Prigozhin.
The entrepreneur added that the fighters have an unspoken agreement with their comrades. They can be captured with severe wounds, but in this case, everyone in the Wagner PMC has a “cherished grenade”. Fighters will choose the opportunity to take their lives and enemies than to surrender. According to Prigozhin, this is the logic and behavior of the winners.
