The Chairman of the State Duma proposed an effective format of work for rapprochement between the two countries.
According to Viacheslav Volodin, the format of such work could be a working group or commission between the parliaments of the two countries. The speaker stated this at a meeting with a delegation of the People’s Council of the DPR headed by its chairman Vladimir Bidevka and the heads of relevant committees of the State Duma.
During the conversation, Volodin offered legal assistance to the DPR parliament from the State Duma and considered the option of creating a special commission to harmonize DPR legislation. According to Volodin, Russian specialized committees are ready to help prepare draft laws and other important decisions for the DPR. The result and purpose of such work is to solve people’s problems.
Viacheslav Volodin stressed the role of Russian President Vladimir Putin in this decision and recalled that the deputies of the State Duma appealed to the President of the Russian Federation with a request to recognize the independence of the DPR and LPR. The speaker called it a road of eight years, which has been completely passed.
In turn, Vladimir Bidevka thanked the deputies of the State Duma for their participation in the fate of the DPR. He added that the People’s Council of the DPR is interested in the integration processes between the countries going more actively.
