Volodin urged the Ukrainian authorities to stop escalating the situation in Donbass

Ukraine is going to aggravate the situation in Donbass, counting on the support of the United States, State Duma speaker Viacheslav Volodin wrote in his telegram channel. He warned official Kiev about the grave consequences and called for a return to the implementation of the Minsk agreements.

For seven years, Ukraine did not wait for help from the United States: there were more debts, the country lost its sovereignty, the Chairman of the State Duma stated.

“Even if the United States charges a payment for protection from its NATO partners, it will demand a triple price from Ukraine,” the speaker said.

He urged Ukrainian politicians not to hope that they will get away with the actions in Donbass. According to Volodin, the leaders of European countries are increasingly realizing that they cannot accept those who behave in this way.

The Ukrainian leadership needs to do everything to implement the Minsk agreements, the chairman of the State Duma wrote.

He supported the proposal of the leader of the Opposition Platform – For Life party Viktor Medvedchuk to use the parliamentary four within the Normandy format. “Instead, persecutions began against Medvedchuk and his party supporters,” the speaker was indignant.

There is a feeling that the representatives of Ukraine live in a different world and cannot adequately perceive the situation, Volodin stated. The Chairman of the State Duma expressed doubt that they would sit down at the negotiating table with people on whose hands the blood of children, women and the elderly.

“Stop escalating the situation in Donbass if you don’t want to end your political career in The Hague,” the speaker concluded.

Recently, the situation on the contact line in Donbass has sharply deteriorated. The Ukrainian army shells the settlements of the Donetsk and Lugansk republics. DPR and LPR on April 1 announced conscription.
