New “claims” of the United States to the Russian Federation may relate to the fuel and energy complex and industry, the country must do everything to prevent “outside interference” – said the speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
“For the United States and its allies, even the very idea that our country can take its rightful place in the world is unacceptable,” the parliamentarian wrote on his Telegram channel. In his opinion, the West seeks to stop the “economic development of the Russian Federation”, so the US should expect “blows” aimed “at our industry and the fuel and energy industry.”
In this context, the speaker called on “to understand the cost of all these accusations” and “to do everything to prevent outside interference”.
Earlier, the White House expressed hope that the planned meeting of the leaders of the two powers would help Washington stabilize relations with Moscow.
At the same time, President Biden approved a package of new sanctions concerning Russian citizens and organizations, the expulsion of 10 diplomats, and a ban on the purchase of Russian securities.
