Volodin spoke about the plans for the work of the State Duma in the autumn session

Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin on Tuesday, September 13, opened the autumn session of the State Duma. The priorities in the work of the deputies will be the draft budget for 2023-2025, the development of transport and the protection of traditional values, said the Chairman of the State Duma.

Volodin said that 162 bills had been submitted to the Duma in the summer. In total, more than 1.3 thousand initiatives are under consideration by the parliament, of which 314 were adopted in the first reading, four in the second, the speaker specified.

One of the main issues will be the budget for 2023 and the planning period 2024-2025. The draft main financial document of the country will be submitted to the State Duma by October 1, Volodin said.

Over the summer, the profile committee of the State Duma worked with the government on the draft budget. Volodin called on other committees to get involved in the development of the document.

According to the speaker, the Cabinet of Ministers began to pay more attention to the proposals of the deputies.

“When developing legislative decisions, we need effective feedback. The quality of laws being adopted depends on this. This allows us to take into account shortcomings at the stage of considering initiatives and improve the quality of decisions made,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.

Another priority topic will be transport. This autumn, large parliamentary hearings will be held on the development of public electric transport in cities, Volodin said. He clarified that it will be about restoring convenient routes and updating the rolling stock.

The speaker also drew attention to the development of river transport. He suggested holding field hearings on this topic in Nizhny Novgorod. Representatives of the government, state corporations, subjects of the Federation will be invited to participate.
