Volodin: Duma will promptly adopt laws on Putin’s proposals

The State Duma will adopt laws as quickly as possible on the initiatives announced by President Vladimir Putin at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. This was stated by the speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.

The politician recalled that the head of state proposed a number of steps to support people and the economy. We are talking about a preferential mortgage of 7%, refusal from business inspections, mitigation of responsibility for tax crimes, a comprehensive program for the modernization of housing and communal services, the development of small towns and villages, and industrial mortgages at 5%.

“As for the legislative support for the president’s proposals, the State Duma will do everything necessary to ensure that laws are adopted as quickly as possible,” Volodin wrote on his Telegram channel.

The speaker noted that representatives of 127 states, whose inhabitants make up 73% of the world’s population, came to the St. Petersburg Economic Forum. In an attempt to isolate Russia, the West isolated itself, the politician stated.

On the sidelines of the forum, the speaker of the State Duma met with the governor of the northern capital, Alexander Beglov. They discussed the development of St. Petersburg and agreed to hold an off-site meeting of the Duma Council in the northern capital in the fall of 2022.

The XXV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is taking place from 15 to 18 June. The main theme was the search for new opportunities in a changed world.
