State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin commented on the words of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen about lowering the heating temperature of housing by two degrees.
The reason for this measure is the desire to replace gas supplies via the Nord Stream pipeline, the head of the European Commission explained. According to Volodin, a new scale will soon appear in the EU – according to Ursula.
“According to Ursula, the Europeans should reduce the temperature by another ten degrees by abandoning the gas pipelines of the Ukrainian corridor, the Turkish Stream, the Druzhba oil pipeline. And another degree by stopping buying coal from Russia,” the State Duma speaker wrote in his telegram channel .
Volodin noted that it would be right for European politicians to lower the degree in their heads so that ordinary citizens do not suffer because of their actions.
In May, the European Union published a plan to phase out Russian energy sources. In early June, the EU approved a partial embargo on oil from the Russian Federation as part of the sixth package of sanctions.
Europe’s sanctions against Russia are illegal, the speaker of the State Duma said earlier. According to him, sooner or later the damage caused to our country will have to be compensated.
Despite public statements about the rejection of Russian energy, Western countries continue to import them. Thus, oil supplies from the Russian Federation to the United States in March almost doubled compared to February.
