President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed a decree on a simplified procedure for admitting orphans from the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as Ukraine, into Russian citizenship. The corresponding document has already been published on the Internet portal of legal information.
“Establish that orphans and children left without parental care, incapacitated persons who are citizens of the DPR, LPR or Ukraine, acquire the citizenship of the Russian Federation in a simplified manner in accordance with part eight of Article 14 of the Federal Law of May 31, 2002 No. 62 -FZ “On Citizenship of the Russian Federation,” the document says.
Earlier, SM-News reported that Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the simplified admission of citizens of the Kherson and part of the Zaporozhye regions to the citizenship of the Russian Federation.
