But the lack of an important vitamin is fraught with the appearance of frequent colds, hair loss and depression. By the way, according to the WHO, about one billion people have low levels of vitamin D.
How to Replenish Vitamin D Stores
The easiest way is to go for a walk in the fresh air. It doesn’t matter if the sun is shining or there are clouds in the sky. The trace element itself will be synthesized in the body. The main condition is not to sit or lie (on the beach in summer), but to move – walk, ride a bike, run, play outdoor games, etc.
If these efforts are not enough and a blood test confirms the doctor’s worst fears, then, as a rule, a person is prescribed special drugs that increase the level of the vitamin.
But it turns out that you can replenish stocks in another way – by making adjustments to your diet.
Endocrinologist Tatyana Bocharova advises including fatty sea fish and egg yolk in your menu.
– In addition, today milk, yoghurts, juices, fortified with vitamin D are produced, – manufacturers irradiate them with ultraviolet light. However, it is impossible to cover the body’s need for vitamin only from food. If you set such a goal, you will have to eat about one kilogram of cod every day, – said the expert.
Bocharova also clarified that it is especially important to monitor the level of a trace element for residents of central Russia: to replenish stocks, they should also take sun baths from May to September.
