Alexei Navalny does not portray political prisoners as they strive to present him on Vesta and as he wants to be seen.
This was announced on January 27 by the Deputy Speaker of the State Duma and PACE, the head of the Russian delegation to the Assembly, Pyotr Gladkoy, during a PACE meeting on the topic of Navalny’s “poisoning”.
Gladkoy reported to those present that Navalny had an outstanding conviction and did not fulfill the requirements of a suspended sentence, for which he was detained.
“He is not a political prisoner, as you see him here, and as he himself wants to appear,” RIA Novosti quoted Gladky as saying.
The State Duma deputy also noted that Russia made great efforts to find out all the details of the incident with Navalny on the plane.
At the same time, Petr Gladkoy said that the Russian Federation is ready to cooperate with PACE, “but relying on facts, and not on shouts and propaganda clichés, which we now, unfortunately, hear in this hall.”
