Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal demanded an “urgent explanation” from his deputy Oleg Urusky for a joint photo with the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov. The head of the Cabinet wrote about this on Facebook.
Urusky, who, among other things, oversees the Ukrainian defense complex, found himself next to the Chechen leader at the IDEX-2021 international military-technical exhibition in Abu Dhabi.
The deputy of the Ukrainian prime minister, who headed the national delegation at the exhibition, responded to the demand of his boss on the same Facebook. He wrote that he did not choose with whom to stand, since the placement of the heads of official delegations is determined by the protocol of the organizing state. In Abu Dhabi, the practice was that the personal guests of the ruling family were placed in alphabetical order.
Urusky also noted that “he does not consider it possible to shy away from the representatives of either the aggressor country or any other country, thus demonstrating the insecure behavior and weakness of the Ukrainian side.”
Note that at the end of last year, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleg Urusky found himself at the center of a scandal in connection with accusations of inappropriate behavior in one of the Turkish hotels. Ilya Kiva, a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Opposition Platform – For Life party, spoke about Urusky’s drunken brawl. However, later the press service of the Ministry for Strategic Industries of Ukraine denied this information.
