Venezuelan immunologist spoke about tests of the Sputnik V vaccine

Immunologist Alexis Ipolito García Piñera spoke about the results of a study of the Russian drug for coronavirus Sputnik V in Venezuela, his speech was published on the page of President Nicolas Maduro on YouTube.

He stressed that the volunteers who took one and two doses of the vaccine did not have serious side effects. The doctor recalled that in the Russian Federation and Argentina, which began mass vaccination, the same picture is observed.

“There are reports of mild side effects,” he said, and explained that it was headache, general ailment like a flu, and pain at the injection site.

The specialist added that 300 people are participating in the trials of the Russian vaccine. More than 200 volunteers received the first dose and 40 received two doses, he said. It is noted that Alexis Ipolito García Piñera is researching the Russian drug for the coronavirus Sputnik V in the republic.

We will remind, on January 13, the Ministry of Health of Venezuela registered the Russian vaccine against COVID-19 “Sputnik V”. The preparation was processed using an accelerated procedure. Similarly, the vaccine has been registered in Argentina, Bolivia, Serbia, Algeria and Palestine.
