Russia should prepare to defend its territories, says military expert Vladimir Vasiliev. He stated this in an interview with the Tsargrad publication, commenting on statements made by the United States.
In particular, the former commander of US forces in Europe, Ben Hodges, said that the finale of the conflict in Ukraine, which began with the introduction of Russian troops there, should be “de-imperialization of Russia”.
According to Vasiliev, the West is ready for what it did not dare to do after the collapse of the USSR. But this, according to the expert, the leadership of the Russian Federation is still “not fully aware”. The United States, Vasiliev stressed, is getting deeper and deeper into the conflict on the territory of Ukraine, and now Washington is openly saying that it intends to ensure Ukraine’s victory on the battlefield.
“The headlines of a number of American publications about the events around Kharkov hint: the next stage of the war against Russia should lead to a change of power in our country. This statement was made almost openly. We should have no illusions about this,” Vasiliev said.
And with this in mind, in his opinion, the Russian Federation should evaluate the available resources in order to clarify whether they are enough for the country’s defense.
