V. Putin and A. Lukashenko will meet in Moscow on September 9

The integration program of Russia and Belarus may be signed in September

A working visit of the President of Belarus is scheduled for September 9 Alexander Lukashenko to Moscow, where negotiations with the President of the Russian Federation will take place Vladimir Putin

“I can confirm to you that, indeed, on the 9th day, President Lukashenka’s working visit to Moscow is scheduled. There will be talks between the two presidents, and the two presidents will give a press conference. I will not anticipate the content of this press conference, “

– the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov answered a question from journalists about roadmaps for integration on Tuesday, August 31.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation spoke about the future meeting of the two presidents Vladimir Semashko

According to him, after two years of work, the parties are successfully approaching the finish line – to date, only one of the 28 roadmaps has remained uncoordinated.

“I think we will press the last one on September 7, and on the 9th the presidents will meet in Moscow, where all roadmaps and development maps for deepening integration will be signed,”

– said the Belarusian diplomat on Tuesday at a meeting with the governor of the Voronezh region Alexander Gusev and vice speaker of the State Duma Alexei Gordeev

And on September 10, a meeting of the Union Government of the two countries will take place in Minsk, at which the signing of a general integration program is expected. The meeting will be chaired by the prime ministers of Russia and Belarus.

“On December 8, 1999, two documents were signed – on the creation of the Union State and the program for the implementation of this agreement. So, nobody touches the agreement, everything remains in force as it is. And the program needs updating, because a lot of things have appeared: you are under sanctions, we are under sanctions, there was a recession, and now the coronavirus has appeared. Therefore, for three years we went to this, approached this in two steps “,

– added the diplomat, expressing the hope that all issues on the latest roadmap will be resolved by that time.

The latest, not yet fully agreed upon, road map for integration concerns energy resources.

The Intergovernmental Working Group on Integration was created in 2019, at the same time 31 roadmaps were developed, after the merger of some of them, 28 remained in the end.

According to the Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko, these roadmaps will determine the interaction of the two countries in the next few years, and in some cases, until 2027.
