As it became known, the cost of housing and communal services will rise again.
In July of this year, the traditional indexation of housing and communal services was already carried out. The cost of utilities increased by 2.9-6.5% depending on the region.
The next indexation was scheduled for July next year. However, today the media reported that prices will increase earlier – already from December 1. Thus, prices for gas will increase by 8.5%, and for electricity – by 9%.
“The Russian government has decided to postpone the indexation of utility tariffs for the population from July 1, 2023 to December 1, 2022“, – the message of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation says.
According to the agency, the second indexation in a year is required to upgrade heating mains, water pipes, as well as “ensuring the smooth operation and development of housing and communal services infrastructure throughout the country, maintaining the provision of high-quality housing and communal services for the population.”
However, the next indexation of tariffs will be only on July 1, 2024. Recall that the first increase in prices took place in the summer of this year, RIA Novosti reports.
