The US Air Force has deployed three more advanced fifth-generation F-35A Lightning II multirole fighters to Alaska. This was reported by the press service of the department.
Three fighters were delivered to Eilson AFB. In total, there are now 23 such airplanes on the base. The tasks of the fighters include suppressing the enemy’s air defense system and conducting offensive operations.
It is expected that by the end of 2021 there will be a total of 54 fighters at the base in the 336th and 335th squadrons.
