The United States allowed its airlines to operate flights in the flight information region (FIR) of Simferopol, RIA Novosti reports.
This was reported by representatives of the American Civil Aviation Administration.
It is known that the corresponding notification will be officially published on Friday and will enter into force on October 27.
The department also emphasizes that the lifting of the ban, which has been in effect for several years, does not mean the recognition of Crimea as part of Russian territory.
At the same time, the American side maintains a ban on flights of its airlines in the flight information area of Dnepropetrovsk due to the continuing risks against the background of the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
Recall that Crimea became part of the Russian Federation in 2014 following a referendum held in the region. At the same time, the Russian authorities have repeatedly stated that the question of ownership of the peninsula is closed.
Earlier, a Ukrainian court seized 65 Russian planes flying to Crimea.
