US President Joe Biden opened a criminal case in Ukraine

Only a week has passed since the inauguration of the new head of the White House. But already in this short period, the politician managed to break so many firewood that he became one of the most talked about persons in the media space.

First, the new US President Joe Biden sent the National Guard soldiers guarding the Capitol to sleep in the garage. Fortunately, the former head of state, Donald Trump, sheltered them in his hotel. Shortly thereafter, Biden signed a decree canceling the construction of the major Keystone XL pipeline, leaving thousands of people unable to find high-paying jobs. One of the local trade unions has already called this decision “an insult” to citizens.

And on Wednesday it became known that a criminal case was opened against the American leader in Ukraine. Together with him, the ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko became the accused. The reason was their attempt to interfere with the work of the former Prosecutor General of Independent Viktor Shokin in 2016, the Tsargrad TV channel reports.

Last year, the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Derkach released audio recordings of negotiations in which then President of Ukraine Poroshenko and Vice President of the United States Joe Biden discussed Shokin’s resignation. Derkach claims that Biden offered his Ukrainian counterpart a billion dollars to remove the attorney general from cases. In 2021, a parliamentarian announced that he had records of about six hours of the chocolate king’s conversations with various high-ranking officials.

Poroshenko’s lawyer Igor Golovan claims that the criminal case is a provocation by Andriy Derkach and the current Kiev authorities, who allegedly represent the interests of a certain “aggressor state,” according to the “360” TV channel.
