US delegation visits Tiraspol

“The position of the Moldovan side is vague, and all statements are at odds with the deed”

An American delegation headed by the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State of the United States at the Bureau of European and Asian Affairs visited the capital of Transnistria Robin dunnigan accompanied by the US Charge d’Affaires in Moldova Laura Rubin and the political and economic adviser of the US Embassy Anna Morgolis, the press service of the PMR president reports.

Meeting of the head of the unrecognized republic Vadim Krasnoselsky with the American delegation was held in the Administration of the President of Transnistria.

Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed hope for “mutually comfortable interaction and fruitful cooperation” and emphasized the important role of the United States in the work of the “Permanent Conference …”, since the United States is part of the “5 + 2” negotiation format as an observer. Robin Dunnigan, for her part, assured that Washington supports the negotiation process and always stands for its continuation and further development.

The President of Transnistria recalled that the position of Tiraspol remains unchanged, it is clear and transparent to both the participants in the negotiation process and observers. The basis of this position is the provisions included in the document “Berlin +”, however, taking into account the problems that appeared after the drafting of the document. And among these problems, one of the most important today is the transport blockade of the Republic, as a result of which the free movement of cars with Transnistrian numbers is limited.

“The PMR President stressed that he considers the fulfillment by all participants of the obligations assumed earlier to be the key to the successful continuation of the negotiations. At the same time, according to Vadim Krasnoselsky, the position of the Moldovan side is vague, and the statements made publicly are at odds with the case, ”

– said in the message of the PMR President’s press service.

On September 29, Vadim Krasnoselsky sent to the President of Moldova Maye Sandu the letter that was delivered to her on September 30th.

The letter described in detail all the problems existing in the relations between Tiraspol and Chisinau, the solution of which cannot be postponed. The head of the PMR called on the Moldovan authorities to immediately continue the negotiation process, which has long been forgotten in Chisinau.

Similar letters were sent on behalf of the Prime Minister of the PMR Alexandra Martynova Prime Minister of Moldova Natalia Gavrlice, and on behalf of the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the PMR Alexandra Korshunova – Speaker of the Parliament of Moldova Igor Grosu… A week has passed, but no reaction from the Moldovan side has yet followed, Krasnoselsky said in an interview with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, stressing that he still hopes that Chisinau will remember the need to continue negotiations.

Journalists of the Moldovan edition NewsMaker applied for comments to the press service of the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, but they only confirmed that the letter was registered in the presidential office. Whether Maya Sandu is going to answer Vadim Krasnoselsky, no one knows.
