American strategic bombers B-1B Lancer first arrived in Norway for a training exercise. According to RIA Novosti, aircraft from the 7th squadron from Dyce airbase in Texas were transferred to the Norwegian air base Erland.
According to General Jeffrey Harrigian, commander of the US Air Force’s European contingent, joint exercises with allies such as Norway are helping to hone deterrent and defensive skills and enhance regional stability.
Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that foreign military personnel were stationed on the territory of Norway almost on a permanent basis, and their number was increasing. In addition, the number of exercises with the participation of foreign forces is increasing, and Russia, according to their plot, often appears as an enemy.
Zakharova believes that the territory of Norway is becoming a springboard for NATO’s entry into the Arctic.
