The US Embassy in Russia responded to the comic offer of Russian diplomats to vaccinate Sputnik V with the head of the diplomatic mission John Sullivan.
According to RIA Novosti, the American diplomatic mission wrote that the ambassador thanks the Russian Foreign Ministry for the offer, but does not want to receive a dose of the vaccine that could get to some of the Russians.
The US Embassy also said that the best gift for Washington would be the release of US citizens convicted in Russia – Paul Whelan and Trevor Reed.
Earlier, the US diplomatic mission published a letter from Sullivan to Santa Claus, in which the diplomat asked for a new hockey stick, running shoes and a vaccine against COVID-19 as a Christmas present. At the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sullivan was offered the Sputnik V vaccine.
Recall that on the eve of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation allowed the use of the Sputnik V vaccine for large-scale vaccination of persons over 60 years old.
