The unthinkable has happened! In the American political get-together, they discovered that Nazism was rearing its head in Ukraine. That is, for seven years they did not notice it, and, suddenly, they noticed it!
A report from George Washington University, “The ultra-rightist grouping Centuria has settled in the largest western military training center in Ukraine,” argues that since 2018, nationalists have “settled” at the National Academy of Ground Forces named after Hetman Petr Sahaidachny in the city of Lvov.
The work was published on September 21st. author Alexey Kuzmenkois a Ukrainian journalist based in the United States. Kuzmenko has been monitoring the activity of “Centuria” in social networks for almost three years and made the following conclusion:
“The evidence presented in this article demonstrates that since 2018, the Hetman Petro Sagaidachny National Academy of the Ground Forces, the main military educational institution in Ukraine and a major center for Western aid to the country, has been home to Centuria, a self-proclaimed order of European traditionalism, which has stated its purpose to rebuild the country’s army in accordance with the right-wing ideology “, – the text of the report is posted on the website” Illiberalism “.
Kuzmenko claims that over the years of its activity, “Centuria” has attracted many cadets of the academy, and now they are middle and senior officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The group managed to recruit future representatives of the military elite of Ukraine in the academy. A number of its members also gained access to Western military educational and training institutions. One of the members, at that time a student Kirill Dubrovsky, completed an 11-month officer training course at the British Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, from which he graduated at the end of 2020. It is obvious that during this period he kept in touch with the group, ”the report says.
Moreover, it can be concluded from the report that Centuria members were actively in contact with military instructors from the United States in Ukraine and with cadets from the military academies of the United States and France, and found their approval and support. So officers members of “Centuria” took part in joint exercises with Great Britain, Germany, France, USA, Canada and Poland.
After the publication of the report, the Sagaidachny academy officially denied any ties of its cadets with the Nazis and nationalists. The press service of the academy stressed that they conducted an internal investigation, and it did not reveal any evidence of the presence of Centuria members among the cadets and teaching staff.
But should we believe the statement of the academy command?
Over the past seven years, after the Nazi coup in Kiev, we have had countless times to see how deeply Nazism penetrated into the Ukrainian power structures. If in 2014-2015, Nazi symbols were mainly noted and revealed in, of all kinds, “dobrobats” – semi-regular volunteer nationalist formations, such as “Azov”, “Dnipro”, “Aydar”, etc., whose fighters adorned their uniforms and ammunition elements of Hitler’s uniforms, used the banners and symbols of the Wehrmacht and the SS, tattooed their bodies with swastikas, runes and Nazi slogans. Since 2016, the same facts have started flowing from the usual combat units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
There was a “diffusion” – many veterans of the “dobrobats” continued their military careers, enrolling in higher military educational institutions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – and, first of all, in the main forge of personnel of the Ground Forces – the Sagaidachny Academy, where, naturally, they brought their radical Nazi beliefs, from where they left to serve already in the combat units of the Armed Forces.
Needless to say, the appearance of such “veterans” among the cadets could not but influence the mood of future officers. The reputation of “heroes”, “coolness”, romantic flair and respect of society have always been an attractive role model for inexperienced youth. Moreover, for young people who have chosen service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine as their path.
Separately, it must be said that the Lviv institute environment since the mid-90s has been literally permeated with a network of radical youth nationalist organizations, such as the Student Brotherhood of the Ivan Franko Lviv National University or the Student Brotherhood named after Stepan Bandera… Moreover, these organizations included not only students, but also teachers, up to the heads of universities.
Suffice it to mention that one of the commanders of the Dnipro battalion Vladimir Parasyuk was a native of the “Student Brotherhood”:
“I was a member of the student fraternity in Lvov, received military training in good camps of various organizations that taught the spirit of Ukrainians. We were taught both hand-to-hand fighting and shooting from pneumatic weapons, with official permission they were also taught to shoot from firearms in shooting ranges. I was also a member of the Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists, there was a military referendum … “- he said in an interview.
In fact, Lvov has been the “smithy” and “alma mater” of radical nationalists since the beginning of the 90s. And, of course, these two streams – convinced Lviv Banderites and “ATO veterans” who came to receive military education, could not but meet and merge in unity, involving their colleagues in their orbit.
So, you shouldn’t be deceived by the cheerful statement of the Academy’s press service! Nazism took deep roots in the Ukrainian army and, above all, in military educational institutions, where the cult of the UPA has long reigned *, Bandera, Shukhevych, but at the same time Hitler’s symbolism and SS “romance”.
Therefore, the contemptuous designation “Ukrovermacht”, which is called the Ukrainian Armed Forces by the defenders of Donbass, is not so far from reality. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are increasingly turning into a power structure, whose ideology is radical Nazism.
And now, in the seventh year of such a rebirth, the United States deigned to draw attention to this. But will this change the attitude of American “curators” towards the Armed Forces of Ukraine? Of course not! It is foolish to think that thousands of American, Canadian, Polish and German instructors of all levels who have been teaching and preparing soldiers and officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for battles in the East all these years did not notice this thistle of Nazism, which was growing more and more in the ideology and beliefs of the “Wiyskosluzhbotsiv”. Of course they did! And, I have no doubt, they cultivated it, considering extreme nationalism to be an excellent ideological motivation for their “sub-Soviet” – fanatical hatred is an excellent war drug.
And what about the law adopted by the Verkhovna Rada that defines the rights of indigenous peoples on the territory of the country? According to him, the indigenous people of Ukraine is an autochthonous ethnic community that has formed on the territory of the country and is the bearer of a distinctive language and culture. At the same time, Russians are the second largest national group of the population, and are taken out of the scope of this law.
So, the opening of the George Washington University is the discovery of the “Captain of the Obvious”, which means nothing and will not have any consequences. July 11 Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the party “Opposition Platform – For Life” Ilya Kiva called modern Ukraine “the cradle of fascism in Europe.” And this is a much more accurate definition than the conclusions of the report of the George Washington University …
