All polling stations that operated on the Unified Election Day have closed, the voting process has ended, said Ella Pamfilova, Chair of the Central Election Commission, Interfax reports.
"The voting process is over. The time has come when all polling stations in the Russian Federation, including the Kaliningrad region, closed," Pamfilova said at a briefing at the CEC on Sunday evening.
She added that after the completion of the vote, the election commissions started counting votes.
At the same time, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) stated that it does not recognize the results of elections in the regions in which the candidates from the party were not allowed to participate. "We do not recognize the elections that took place in the regions where our candidates were removed," Gennady Zyuganov, chairman of the Communist Party Central Committee, told reporters on Sunday.
The elections were held in three days in order to separate the flows of people and minimize the risk of contracting the coronavirus, as was first tested at the All-Russian vote on amendments to the Constitution. However, September 13 is the main day when elections were held only at polling stations.
No serious irregularities in the elections in Russia that could affect the course of the voting have been identified, said the first deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Alexander Gorovoy. On Sunday, speaking at the Central Election Commission, he noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs records massive stuffing into social networks of provocative information related to the holding of a single voting day.
According to him, the Ministry of Internal Affairs received 2,539 complaints of violations during the autumn election campaign. Since the opening of polling stations on Sunday, 320 messages have been received as of 16:00.
The first deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that the verification of complaints of violations received by the internal affairs bodies will be completed by September 16.
