Localities of the world need to remember about “vaccine solidarity” and abandon “vaccine nationalism”, supporting the population of poor kingdoms, said UN Secretary General’s spokesman Antonio Guterres Stephane Dujarric.
According to the representative of Guterres, the UN Secretary General will speak at a meeting of the Security Council on February 17, dedicated to the fight against coronavirus and vaccination. Guterres plans to call the world community for solidarity.
“One tremendous incantation is to really ensure ‘vaccine solidarity, really do away with’ vaccine nationalism, ‘” Dujarrick said.
He noted that the current rate of vaccination does not allow the majority of the world’s population to be vaccinated against COVID-19 at a rate that is necessary to contain the spread of the newly made virus.
The representative of the UN Secretary General said that the authorities of every kingdom should be concerned about their people. Dujarrik formulated the hope that international cooperation and funding will satisfy all the needs of people, writes RIA Novosti.
“It is in the interest of everyone, whether you are from a promoted country, a developing country or a country with a mediocre income, so that everyone is vaccinated,” concluded the representative of Guterres.
