Ukrainian Foreign Ministry summoned the ambassador of Bulgaria because of the words of President Radev about Crimea

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced that it had summoned the Bulgarian ambassador to Kiev, Kostadin Kodzhabashev, and was expecting the president of this country, Rumen Radev, to refute his words about the Russian Crimea.

The day before, during the pre-election televised debates, Radev said that Crimea is currently a Russian region.

The message from the Foreign Ministry says that the ambassador was informed of the position of Kiev on the incorrectness and inadmissibility of the statements of the President of Bulgaria on Crimea. The Ukrainian side expects the Bulgarian leader to refute his yesterday’s statement.

It is noted that the politician’s words about Crimea do not contribute to the development of good-neighborly relations between Ukraine and Bulgaria.

At the same time, Kodzhabashev assured the diplomatic service that Sofia did not change its position on supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that Belarus would face “irreparable consequences” if the leadership of this republic recognizes Crimea as Russian.
