Earlier, the National Commission of Ukraine imposed a ban on the purchase of electricity from the Russian Federation and Belarus. However, it was not renewed after October 31, 2021.

It is known that the price of a megawatt-hour of Russian electricity is 29 Ukrainian kopecks ($ 0.01 or 78 Russian kopecks). Kiev will also resume imports of Belarusian electricity from November 1. The Ukrainian state-owned company Energoatom has already bought 885 and 900 megawatts of available electricity from the neighboring republic.

Recall that Ukraine in the fall of 2019 began to import electricity from the Russian Federation after a four-year hiatus. In April 2020, imports stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic. At the beginning of 2021, Kiev resumed imports, but stopped it again in May.

Earlier in NewInform: President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the republic is ready to help “suffering neighbors” with electricity. According to him, he adheres to this position, despite the incautious statements from the politicians of neighboring countries towards him.
