Kiev turned to Interpol with a request to declare on the wanted list the planes that have flown to Crimea since 2014. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine.
It is noted that requests were sent to other countries as well.
Some Russian aircraft were “arrested” in absentia at the request of the supervisory authority. We are talking about 190 aircraft. In total, according to the authorities, since 2014, about 500 aircraft have made passenger flights to the peninsula. In Kiev, they claim that the airlines, during the transportation, violated international rules.
Earlier today, Ukraine imposed three-year sanctions against Russian and foreign air carriers over flights to Crimea. The list includes 13 Russian airlines.
