Igor Zhovkva, deputy head of the office of the President of Ukraine, said that the country’s authorities are negotiating with Turkey regarding joint efforts to ensure security in the Black Sea, RIA Novosti reports.
During a conversation with journalists, the politician noted that the Black Sea is an important and priority region for Ukraine.
“We are already in dialogue with Turkey about strengthening security in the Black Sea, about joining efforts to resist the efforts of the Russian Federation, which is also a Black Sea power,” Zhovkva said.
He also stressed that the Ukrainian authorities intend to discuss this issue with representatives of the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance, since this region is also a priority for them.
Recall that earlier Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov called the actions of NATO member countries in the Black Sea region “playing with fire” and warned that Russia was ready to fight back.
