Ukraine has finally severed relations with the “Russian world”. This statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Kuleba.
The Ukrainian authorities are guided by two fundamental principles today. First, Kiev will never recognize Crimea as Russian and will not surrender Donbass. Secondly, Nezalezhnaya will continue to develop as a western country.
“Everything else is a matter of time and diplomacy,” added Dmitry Kuleba.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the scenario of an armed clash with Russia. All citizens, including women, will be mobilized, he said. “There will be a big war,” the head of state stressed.
Prior to that, Zelensky declared the equal responsibility of the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany in unleashing the Second World War. The statement by the Ukrainian president was sharply criticized in Russia. “The hearing and the heart of the veterans were struck,” the Kremlin replied.
Relations between the two countries deteriorated in 2014-2015. Among the reasons – the entry of the Crimean peninsula into Russia and the armed conflict in the Donbass. Kiev has repeatedly accused Moscow of interfering in internal affairs.
We will remind, Crimea was annexed to Russia after a referendum, during which the majority of the inhabitants of the peninsula spoke in favor of separation from Ukraine. The Kremlin clarified that the vote was held in accordance with all international norms and laws.
