UK first registers AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine

The UK is the first country to register a coronavirus vaccine developed by pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca in partnership with the University of Oxford.

According to the British Ministry of Health, the government of the kingdom has accepted the recommendation of the Agency for the Control of Medicines and Medical Products to authorize the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine, TASS reports.

In Britain a few days ago, a campaign to vaccinate the population against coronavirus was launched. The first dose of Pfizer-BioNTech has already been received by 600,000 people.

Meanwhile, experts said that it is necessary to ensure the vaccination of at least two million people a week in order to prevent a new wave of COVID-19 in the country.
