UEFA commented on rumors about the deprivation of St. Petersburg Euro matches

UEFA spoke about rumors about rumors about the possible deprivation of St. Petersburg matches of the European Championship, reports RBC.

So, the organization asked to be guided by the previous statements of UEFA President Aleksandr Cheferin, who had previously stated that the format of the championship was not planned to be changed.

“At the moment, we are planning exactly the same Euro as planned <...>... So at the moment we don't have any "plan B". We'll wait and see. We will monitor the situation, "- quoted by Cheferin's agency.

Earlier, rumors about the deprivation of St. Petersburg Euro matches were denied by the general director of the organizing committee of the Russian part of Euro 2020 Alexei Sorokin.

The European Championship was scheduled for June 12 - July 12, 2020, however, in the context of a pandemic, it was decided to postpone the competition. Matches were postponed to the same period next year in 12 European cities, including St. Petersburg, where three group stage meetings and one of the quarterfinals will be held.
