Two participants in the Giro d’Italia cycling race diagnosed with coronavirus

Two cyclists participating in the prestigious multi-day race "Giro d'Italia" have been diagnosed with coronavirus, the press service of the International Cycling Union (UCI) said.

The athletes are not named. Cyclists are known to compete for the Sunweb and Jumbo-Visma teams.

Now sick athletes are on isolation under the supervision of team doctors.

Earlier today, the WHO announced a record increase in coronavirus infections over the past week, when 34% more infections were registered in European countries than a week earlier.
