The German Chancellor is in Turkey on a farewell visit before leaving the post of chief executive. During the conversation, Merkel and Erdogan got into an argument over the shortcomings of the coalition government. With this form of government, according to the Turkish leader, there were many problems in the relations between Ankara and Berlin.

“But working with a coalition government is always difficult. There were many problems in Turkey under him, but with the transition to a presidential system, we got rid of them and began to work intensively, ”Erdogan said.

Merkel stressed that the coalition government is suitable for Germany. The country is not going to switch to a presidential system, the chancellor added.
