Tunisian authorities canceled all New Year’s events due to COVID-19

The Ministry of Tourism of Tunisia announced that all New Year’s celebrations and mass gatherings in the country have been canceled due to the threat of the spread of coronavirus, RIA Novosti writes.

The ministry called on all tourist sites and businesses to comply with the ban on mass gatherings and demonstrations, including public and private events to celebrate the New Year.

According to the Tunisian Ministry of Health, over 133,000 cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the country, more than 101,000 people have recovered, and 4,518 cases have died.
